The goods-train struck a passenger train in the fog near Hordorf Saturday night. The conductor of the passenger train was among the 10 killed, and another 23 people were hurt.
Based on an eyewitness report, authorities are probing whether the goods train drive ignored a stop signal.
The collision crushed the front of the passenger train, and the force was so powerful that police were having trouble identifying the victims, because of the condition of the bodies.
